The concept of immortality is actually what has helped me to find the willpower to come forth and actively pursue the improvement of my writing over time. Everything dies, but when one writes something, whether it is knowledge shared or even just a bit of experience, it creates something that could possibly last longer than the writer him/herself. If I write something, and then die, and the writing is read years later, I have effectively maintained a position of some importance in the human race even after death. I know, I know, it sounds totally cheesy, but it's really what keeps me writing again and again; the fact that I am in effect preserving little pieces of what makes me a person.

Now, if one is going to write and write and write so that he may be preserved, he has to make sure his writings are at the pinnacle of comprehension. His writing must be clear, and it must always be as close to the currently-accepted syntax as possible, so as to be sure an accurate perception of him is what survives when he is long gone. Having reached this conclusion, I take it upon myself to surge forward and accept the task of improving my writing in exchange for immortality.
